We're gearing up for a busy September here at AP Technologies, with back-to-back appearances at two key UK trade shows. Come along to meet us, share your challenges and find out how cutting-edge photonics technologies can help you meet them.
As always, our focus is providing robust, compact and low power consumption components and modules without compromising performance.
First up, we'll be at Water, Wastewater and Environmental Management show at the NEC in Birmingham from 17–18 September. If you're working on environmental monitoring, drop by our stand, WW S52, where we'll have some practical solutions for the usual design headaches.
Our focus is on helping you get reliable data from instruments that can handle life outside the lab.

On the stand we will be showing:
Light Emitting Diodes
An extensive portfolio of LEDs manufacturers: Opto Diode Corporation (ODC), Sensor Electronic Technology (SET), Seoul Viosys, and Epigap-OSA. Wavelengths span the deep UV to mid-infrared spectrum. Of particular note are the next-generation UVC LEDs from Silanna UV, designed for applications in water analysis and chemical-free disinfection. These models provide an exceptional 2% wall plug efficiency (WPE) at the highly effective germicidal wavelength of 235 nm.
LED-Based Light Sources
For reliable modular light source solutions, LumeDEL provides fibre-coupled LED instruments that are a bright, stable, and low-power light source well-suited for laboratory-based spectroscopy as well integration into commercial instrumentation. In addition, high-power systems from Adaptive Lighting are available, including area illuminators, line-lights, and ring-lights, with multi-wavelength configurations offered.
Spectrometers and Detectors
- Compact Spectrometers: OtO Photonics offers a broad selection of compact, ultra-compact, and high-resolution spectrometers operating from 180nm to 2500nm. These devices are engineered to be robust enough for field deployment while still ensuring the data consistency expected of laboratory-grade instruments.
- Silicon Photomultipliers (SiPMs): For developers of portable radiation detectors, Broadcom’s SiPMs offer a robust and low-voltage alternative to conventional PMTs
Mid-Infrared Detectors
We will also be showing lead sulphide (1–3.1 µm) and lead selenide (1–5.5 µm) detectors from Opto Diode. Suitable for emissions monitoring, they are offer excellent performance, high reliability and batch-to-batch consistency. A variety of packaging is available, including open flat plate, hermetic, and cooled options with a selection of window materials and filters.
A week later, 24–25 September, our focus shifts to industrial automation and sensing at Photonics UK at the Excel Centre in London where we’re exhibiting on stand C26. Here, in addition to products listed above we'll be showing:
Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensors
Broadcom’s ToF sensors are more than simple chips and are provided as fully calibrated modules with the laser and processing built in. Our experience has started to show that it’s a smart way to add accurate 3D sensing to platforms such as robots or drones without the need to design the optics and electronics from scratch.
At both events, product manager experts from both Silanna UV and OtO Photonics will be on the stands and open to detailed discussions. If you’re planning on attending, why not get in touch to arrange a meeting?
Whether you're tackling environmental analysis or industrial automation, our goal is the same: to show how carefully chosen components can help you build better, more reliable instruments. Whether you’re visiting WWEM/AQE or Photonics UK, please drop by for a chat about your project. We’ll be happy to talk you through the technical details.
