TOF Sensor

Broadcom have produced a guide to measures that can be taken if the AFBR-S50 sensors are operating in an environment where they may be exposed to highly collimated and intense radiation from pulsed lasers with a peak power of several watts or higher, such as those used in mid-long range scanning LiDAR systems.

The application note suggests limiting the VDD and VDDL current to 150 mA maximum, and provides a recommended schematic for adding a current limitation to a standard circuit to avoid optically induced current latches.
