ECLs are a cost effective coherent laser source supplied in an industry standard butterfly package with TEC, thermistor and monitor photodiode. Designed to deliver exceptional optical performance for high-precision applications, these lasers are ultra-stable narrow-linewidth sources with high output power which are enabling state-of-the-art measurement and imaging systems.
SemiNex's 10mW ECLs feature their Reflective Semiconducor Amplifier (RSOA) to create a lasing cavity with an external grating, whilst their high power ECLs also feature a Semiconductor Optical Amplifier (SOA) for in-line amplification to achieve an impressive 200mW output. The use of an external grating for wavelength stabilisation results in a substantially longer coherence length than other semiconductor lasers (including DFBs), and a low phase noise. Sub-MHz linewidth and wavelength stability are assured by design, eliminating the need for wavelength lockers and complex feedback control circuits.
