OtO Photonics offer a choice of light sources for spectrometry. All of OtO's light sources are designed for easy integration with their PKG Spectral Measurement Kit - providing perfect alignment with cuvette holder and spectrometer.
- LS-HA: Halogen, 350-2500nm
- LS-BA: Balanced Light - Halogen (350-2500nm) with 395nm and 430nm LEDs
- LS-D2: Deuterium, 185-400nm
- LS-DH-4: Deuterium-Halogen, 185-2500nm
- LS-WB: Wideband, 400-1000nm
LS-HA: Halogen, 350-2500nm
OtO Photonics' LS-HA is a Tungsten-Halogen light source which provides a stable and smooth wide-band output from 350nm to 2500nm suitable for most visible and near infrared measurements.

This spectrum was taken using OtO's SmartEngine spectrometer. The exact model is SE1020-50-VNIR which combines a SONY ILX511B front-illuminated UV-enhanced linear sensor with a 600 grooves/mm grating blazed at 500nm and a spectral range of 350-1020nm. The measurement was taken with Electrical Dark Correction and Linearity Correction enabled. Intensity Correction is disabled.
LS-BA: Balanced Light Halogen & LED, 350-2500nm
The LS-BA balanced light source combines a Tungsten-Halogen lamp with LEDs at 395nm and 430nm to broaden the spectrum and add power at these shorter wavelengths.

LS-D2: Deuterium, 185-400nm
The LS-D2 is a Deuterium lamp providing a UV-VIS spectrum from 185nm to 400nm in a compact 145 x 70 x 70 mm3 package.
The output of the LS-D2 is internally collimated, making it suitable for direct use, or in conjunction with an SMA905 fibreoptic connector or OtO's freespace or fibre collimators.
The LS-D2 offer a short start-up time of just 30 seconds with stable output of <0.25%/hour and extended lifetime of 1500 hours (230nm, -50%) ensure reliable long-term operation.

The LS-D2 can be used with an external shutter controller, using OtO's SpectraSmart software or via the unit's push-button.
LS-DH-4: Deuterium-Halogen, 185-2500nm
OtO's LS-DH-4 is an upgraded version of their well-established LS-DH-2 model. The LS-DH-4 combines a more stable Deuterium source for extended-lifetime 185nm to 400nm broad output with a long-life Tungsten-Halogen source providing 400nm to 2500nm output. The two lamps can be controlled independently, either manually or via software.
Operation Mode Selection: Users have the option setting the LS-DH-4 to Auto Mode operation using the switch and can then use OtO's SpectraSmart software via the USB interface to control the Halogen and Deuterium lamps as well as the built-in Shutter. Alternatively, by selecting Manual Mode users can control all elements of the LS-DH-4 using their respective button. Each function’s indicator lights up when activated.
GPIO Control Interface: The LS-DH-4 includes an 8-pin GPIO connector with a 2.0 mm pitch. Once connected with the Auto/Manual switch is set to Automatic Mode, the control of D2 lamp, Halogen lamp, and Shutter can be managed by the spectrometer software SpectraSmart or through the SDK via I/O levels (3.3V, 5V or 0V).
Users can switch the light sources on and off via SpectraSmart or the SDK however, they should always pay attention to warm up and stabilisation times.
LS-WB: Wideband, 400-1000nm
OtO's LS-WB wideband light source provides stable light output within the range of 400 to 1000nm. It includes a built-in shutter, allowing for manual switching of the shutter or control through the GPIO port via a range of OtO's spectrometers using their spectral measurement software "SpectraSmart".
The LS-WB includes an LED indicator confirming the shutter indicator. When illuminated Red the shutter is closed and light is blocked, when Green the shutter is open and light is allowed to pass through.

The intensity of the light source can be manually adjusted using the built-in Potentiometer or controlled via the GPIO port using PWM.
The light source exhibits stability and rapid response, making it suitable for use as a flash light source.
In addition to control via SpectraSmart, the GPIO connector can be used with customer's own application using OtO's SDK and example code.
