Lantana is the latest release from QD Laser, combining their award-winning QLD0593-series of visible laser diodes with a driver in a single, ultra-compact plug-and-play module.
The QC4LD0593-series is designed to meet the growing demands for miniaturisation and enhanced design flexibility in biomedical equipment in applications such as Flow Cytometry, Cell Sorting, Microscopy and Spectroscopy.
The compact (3.8mm x 5.6mm x 21.9mm) QLD0593 lasers feature a high power near-infrared Distributed Feedback / Semiconductor Optical Amplifier (DFB/SOA) laser diode which is frequency-doubled utilising waveguide PPLN (Periodically-Poled Lithium Niobate) to produce outputs at 532nm, 561nm and 594nm. Additional wavelengths of 488 nm, 552 nm and 588nm are already in development.
This integration of these tiny, yet powerful, lasers and the laser driver results in an ultra-compact and light, 38 x 62 x 22.5 mm³ (53cc) and 90g, plug-and-play module, simplifying the setup process and enhancing the ease of use for system-integrators and end-users.
Output power ranges from 5mW to 50mW and, because the fundamental NIR wavelength is generated in a DFB laser diode, the stability is excellent (<2%), no modehopping, beam quality of M² <1.2 and a low divergence of 1.2 mrad.
All Lantana models feature USB communication, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and providing straightforward operation. In addition to CW operation under Automatic Power Control (APC) all Lantana models can be directly modulated from 0.1kHz to 50 kHz under Automatic Current Control (ACC) via the USB connection.
