DragonFly (DF) series spectrometers are low cost near infrared models which combine OtO Photonics' expertise in spectrometer cavity design, software and manufacturing with Texas Instruments' Digital Light Processing technology (DLP®).
DLP uses Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) technology to produce an array of micromirrors which are used the direct portions of the spectrum from a diffraction grating to a single point photodiode.

This innovative arrangement provides an extremely compact form-factor with an overall size (including connectors and control boards) of only 108cm³ for versions with uncooled photodiodes and 184cm³ for models with two-stage Peltier cooling.

Despite its compact form-factor DragonFly features an extremely rigid optical bench ensuring a platform with excellent thermal, humidity, shock and vibration stability.
DragonFly is offered with a choice of ambient temperature 1mm active area InGaAs photodiode for operation over 900-1700nm (DF1514) alongside 2-stage TE-cooled models with standard InGaAs (DF1914, 900-1700nm) as well as extended-response models with cut-off wavelengths of 2050nm (DF1924) and 2280nm (DF1934).
