DragonFly DF1514DragonFly (DF) series spectrometers are low cost near infrared models which combine OtO Photonics' expertise in spectrometer cavity design, software and manufacturing with Texas Instruments' Digital Light Processing technology (DLP®).

DLP uses Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) technology to produce an array of micromirrors which are used the direct portions of the spectrum from a diffraction grating to a single point photodiode.

This innovative arrangement provides an extremely compact form-factor with an overall size (including connectors and control boards) of only 108cm³ for versions with uncooled photodiodes and 184cm³ for models with two-stage Peltier cooling.

Despite its compact form-factor DragonFly features an extremely rigid optical bench ensuring a platform with excellent thermal, humidity, shock and vibration stability.

DragonFly is offered with a choice of ambient temperature 1mm active area InGaAs photodiode for operation over 900-1700nm (DF1514alongside 2-stage TE-cooled models with standard InGaAs (DF1914, 900-1700nm) as well as extended-response models with cut-off wavelengths of 2050nm (DF1924) and 2280nm (DF1934).

Power and communication with DF-Series spectrometers is via high-speed micro-USB with the addition of 6 user-programmable digital I/Os.

The inclusion of OtO's SpectraSmart software ensures that DragonFly users can be up-and-running within minutes whilst the availability of a Software Development Kit for Windows and example code for Linux facilitates integration into a broad range of OEM instruments.
