SensL MiniSL Modules

SensL’s MiniSM-series provides a plug-and-play solution to using Silicon Photoultiplier (SiPM) technology.

Available with 1mm and 3mm active area SiPMs these modules combine SensL's third generation M-Series technology with single-stage Peltier cooled TO-8 packages, power supply,  DC-coupled preamplifier and cooler control electronics.

Operation is simple—plug in the 5V supply and connect the SMA output to scope or readout electronics.

Standard modules are configured to operate at a temperature of -10 to -15°C, improving the SNR performance over room temperature operation since the dark rate is reduced by over one order of magnitude.  The SiPM bias is factory-set for optimum performance and the standard preamplifier bandwidth is ~20MHz.

It should be noted that as SensL's Dark Count Rates have improved so dramatically the room temperature DCR of the latest C-Series and J-Series SiPMs is equivalent to the cooled performance of the MiniSM - as a result the MiniSM is recommended where Gain and DCR stability is required.

It is also possible to optimise the gain/bandwidth of the TIA and specify MiniSMs with Power Supply and/or Peltier control boards removed—for example where multiple devices are being used in an instrument and these functions can be integrated within the system electronics.

Options for the MiniSM modules include a C-Mount adapter and a 400µm core fibre adapter and fibre.
