SensL’s MatrixB modules combine 12x12 pixel arrays incorporating crosswire readout with electronics to provide compact and highly robust modular systems designed for medical imaging applications using L(Y)SO scintillator arrays.
The MatrixB module is available with SensL's B-series SiPMs.
The MatrixB9 requires low power and offers excellent spatial segmentation and uniformity. It addresses the need for high resolution imagers for small animal, pre-clinical and mammography PET. The Matrix9 system architecture is modular, in addition to the detector head it comprises:-
Front-end Electronics — Biases the SiPMs and amplifies their signals. Candidate signals are flagged through a programmable threshold discriminator and are digitised, time stamped, buffered and subsequently read out to the MatrixB-C communications board through a high speed serial interface.
Coincidence Board — the MatrixB9-C provides all of the necessary control for up to 16 Matrix9 modules. It provides a common clock, retrieves and buffers event data and interfaces with the host computer through a high speed USB connection. By integrating multiple detector heads the Matrix9 can perform temporal coincidence analysis, reducing data rates to the host system.
