PH2014 250pxOtO Photonics' PocketHawk (PH) series are crossed-cavity Czerny-Turner spectrometers operating from 330nm to 1050nm.

 

PocketHawk offers the performance benefits of classic C-T cavity designs in a significantly reduced package of just 65 x 65 x 25.2mm³ (<107cm³), including the external control board. This is dramatically smaller than OtO's own SmartEngine C-T spectrometer (~300cm³) which is itself considered to be a compact design.

 

Despite its compact form-factor PocketHawk offers excellent performance with high optical resolution, high sensitivity, low stray light, and fast response. PocketHawk benefits from an especially rigid optical bench which ensures industry-leading thermal, humidity, shock and vibration stability.

 

PocketHawk utilises a high sensitivity 3000 pixel CCD sensor with a choice of slit sizes from 10µm to 200µm giving FWHM Resolution in the range of 2.2nm to 12nm over the full 720nm spectral range (330-1050nm). A choice of two 500grooves/mm gratings blazed at 330nm (VNIR6) and 770nm (VNIR6A) allows users to specify the optimum sensitivity grating to suit their application.

 

Communication with PH-Series spectrometers is via high speed (480Mbps) USB2.0 or 6 user-programmable digital I/Os.

 

The inclusion of OtO's SpectraSmart software ensures that PocketHawk can be up-and-running within minutes whilst the availability of a Software Developer Kit for Windows and example code for Linux facilitates integration into a broad range of industrial, medical, pharmaceutical and environmental applications.
