OtO's Photonic's UltraMicro Series range of proprietary MEMS-based microspectrometers operate over UV to NIR wavelengths (330-850nm) and are available in form-factors down to just 7cm³.
OtO's MEMS-based microspectrometers replace the "collimator-plane grating-focusing mirror" optical structure used in traditional Czerny-Turner spectrometers with a "non-spherical, mass-producible" micro-sized component which combines grating and focusing functions. The microchip concave grating technology leverages patented algorithms to calculate curvature and ray-tracing to eliminate aberrations and achieve high resolution of 2nm.
Standard UltraMicro microspectrometers measure just 39.3mm x 43.5mm x 10.1mm (~17.5cm³) and yet the UM1280 and UM2280 can be specified for operation from 380-780nm or 330-850nm with a choice of 10µm, 25µm and 40µm slits giving FWHM resolution of 3.5nm, 5.5nm or 10nm respectively.
Extreme UltraMicro MEMS-based microspectrometers are extremely compact with dimensions of 23.2mm x 31mm x 8.5mm (6.1cm³) and yet the UM1390 and UM2390 can also can be specified for operation from 380-780nm or 330-850nm with a choice of 25µm and 40µm slits giving resolution of 5.5nm or 10nm.
All UltraMicro Series microspectrometers offer an SNR of 150, adjustable exposure times from 1ms to 65ms and 2MHz sensor readout rate. They are interfaced via an 8-lead CCD ribbon connector or OtO's optional external control boards with 32bit RISC core and 16bit ADC which provide a USB interface for PC control using OtO's SpectraSmart software. A full Windows SDK is also available - along with example code for Linux operation.
