OtO Photonic's SmartEngine (SE) series are compact Czerny-Turner cavity spectrometers available in a wide range of configurations to meet the demands of many applications.
SmartEngine uses high performance CCD and CMOS sensors from leading manufacturers (Sony, Hamamatsu, Toshiba) in combination with high performance 32bits RISC controllers and communicates via USB using either OtO's SpectraSmart PC-based software or 6 I/Os for external interface.
SmartEngine's optical bench is both compact and very rigid, providing a stable platform with excellent thermal and shock/vibration performance with high optical resolution, high sensitivity, low stray light, and fast spectral response.
The key to SmartEngine's flexibility is its combination of 8 standard sensors, 6 standard slit sizes and 8 grating designs which can be mixed-and matched to create a huge range of application-optimised spectrometers. To help new users the Support section of our site contains guidance on How To Specify A SmartEngine. You can also find recommendations for specific applications in the SmartEngine By Application page.

SmartEngine spectrometers can be specified with OtO's "PKG" Spectral Measurement Kit. The PKG comprises a multi-function measurement platform designed to accomodate one or two spectrometers from OtO's SmartEngine range with a choice of OtO's light sources.
The rigid measurement platform is machined to ensure easy alignment of spectrometer(s), light source and cuvette holder ensuring quick-and-easy setup and operation. A selection of colour (RGB) and Neutral Density filters are included along with freespace and fibre collimators, adapters and cuvettes - all housed in a rugged, waterproof storage and carrying case.
The inclusion of OtO's SpectraSmart software ensures that the PKG Spectral Measurement Kit is an ideal solution for teaching environments as well as a broad range of industrial, medical, pharmaceutical and environmental applications.
