A range of Compact Visible Laser Modules (CVLMs) are currently under development at QD Laser.
Based on QD Laser’s Quantum Well DFB technology the QLD0593 series utilise Second Harmonic Generation (SHG) based on waveguide PPLN (Periodically-Poled LiNbO3) to produce outputs at 532nm, 561nm and 594nm with power levels of 5mW, 20mW, 30mW and 50mW (depending on the wavelength).
The use of a frequency-doubled DFB source enables extremely stable singlemode operation in both CW and directly modulated operation. Modulation rates of up to 100MHz can be achieved as well as extinction ratios of up to 40dB. This modulation capability without spectral disturbance means the QD Laser modules are ideal for video applications as well as many life science applications and the narrow spectral linewidth is also suitable for microscopy, spectroscopy and sensing system
Fibre-coupled versions of the CVLM technology, the QLD0561 series is available with options of singlemode, polarisation maintaining or multimode fibre and a choice of connector.
QDL have also developed an integrated CW driver version with LCD display and a CW/nanosecond/picosecond pulsed driver board.
