El-Mul’s range of detectors for Time-Of-Flight Mass spectrometry systems bring together their core capabilities into gold-standard detection solutions for both system manufacturers and end-users looking to upgrade their instruments to take advantage of the latest technology:- OptiMax is the most innovative optically decoupled high speed TOF detector available. El-Mul’s hybrid design offers excellent overall characteristics which are far superior to single MCP and plastic scintillator based solutions. The optically decoupled design allows bipolar operation whilst the floatable chevron MCP enables use of optimal acceleration voltages. MTOF is a high efficiency ion detector for heavy masses. Ions are converted to SE at a converter plate inside an ExB field. Ejected SE travel via semi-circular paths towards an MCP or fast scintillator for PMT readout. Time of travel is almost identical for all SE paths with a calculated jitter of only 300 pS. Silhouette is an MCP-based TOF detector with fast read-out anode allowing pulses of less than 1 ns to be conveniently extracted without ringing via the integral SMA connector. The Extra-Push option comprises integral post-acceleration grid to increase ion detection efficiency by a factor of 5 to 10.
